With Dental Surgery

You want your mouth to remain healthy and your smile to stay bright. However, sometimes big steps are needed to restore your dental health.

Dental surgery has helped many of our patients repair their smiles and boost their oral health. We perform only tooth removal oral surgery at Bautsch Family Dentistry.

For more complex procedures, we will refer you to an outside oral surgeon. We work only with local specialists who we would trust for our own surgeries.

What You Can Expect During Your Tooth Removal

For your tooth extraction, we prioritize you in every way. We try to avoid tooth removals whenever possible. If we can, we will use restorative treatments designed to repair teeth, including tooth fillings, dental crowns, and root canal therapy.

If that's not possible, we'll recommend removing the tooth to protect your healthy teeth and gums against further problems. Don't worry about pain during your tooth removal. We numb the area with local anesthetic and offer inhaled sedation with laughing gas.

Contact us if you need gentle oral surgery in Kingwood, TX. You can also request an appointment online.

Common Questions About Oral Surgery

When would I need oral surgery?

Tooth extraction is often needed if a tooth is too damaged to repair or if it is damaging your other teeth. In some cases, you need to have teeth removed to make room for dentures or another dental restoration. Whatever the reason, you can be sure that we'll remove your tooth as gently and comfortably as possible.

When is oral surgery covered by insurance?

Many insurance plans pay for at least a portion of oral surgery. So you know what to expect beforehand, we recommend checking with your individual plan to find out what is and isn't covered. To help with your portion of the cost, we offer third-party financing through CareCredit, which has attractive rates and payment options.

When can I exercise after oral surgery?

After your oral surgery, you should not exercise at all for the first 24 hours. Doing too much too soon can increase your healing time. For example, strenuous exercise can loosen the blood clot on an extraction site and cause a painful condition known as dry socket. After the first day, limit your exercise to low-impact activities for several more days to prevent complications.
